The president claims that “terrorists” have stormed strategic facilities across the country.
“I believe reaching out to our CSTO partners was timely and appropriate,” Tokayev said late Wednesday, as quoted by Russia Today, Thursday (6/1/2022).

The president denounced violent protesters who have stormed government buildings and other facilities in several cities across the country.
In addition, he said in his speech that intense firefights between air military units and “terrorist groups” had taken place outside the country’s largest city, Almaty.
“These highly organized terrorists have been trained abroad,” Tokayev said.
“This terrorist gang is international, has undergone serious training abroad, and their attack on Kazakhstan can and should be seen as an act of aggression,” he said.
According to him, assistance from CSTO countries is needed to combat the “terrorist” threat, which he says aims to undermine Kazakhstan’s territorial integrity.
