ÅSSIDEN: The emergency services responded late Sunday evening to an address in Kristian Brenners vei.
According to the police, there may have been an explosion in a transformer.
– No one was injured, but the power has gone out in the area, the police report.
The police emphasize that there is no drama associated with the incident and that work is being done to restore the electricity.
Glitre Energi states on their website that 1,109 customers are affected and that they are working to correct the error.
Police operations manager Trond Egil Groth states that they received a message from someone who had heard a bang and that the neighborhood was blacked out at 11.50pm. In addition, it was reported that black smoke was coming from an air valve from a garage facility. When the police arrived at the scene, the neighborhood was dark, but they could not see any smoke, Groth says.
– It must have happened inside a boiler room and smoke divers were inside. An intake cable had burned up, says the operations manager to Drammens Tidende
The fire brigade is also on the scene. Duty manager Joachim Rakvåg at the Sørøst 110 central says that the report they received was smoke developing in a garage.
Groth says that the Electronic Agency has taken over the scene and that the police do not know what caused the incident.
The case is updated.
