Emergency Rescue Operation Launched After Person Falls Down Cliff in Nissedal – Injured Man Flown to Ambulance for Examinations

At 23.15, Friday evening, the police operations manager reported that the emergency services had launched a rescue operation after a person had fallen down a cliff in Nissedal.

The operations manager states that this must have happened near Hjasufknatten.

The man who fell down the slope had himself contacted the emergency services. The fall happened when the man was on a walk in the area.

Snowmobile patrols and a rescue helicopter were sent to the scene.

Pain in the back

At 23.40, the operations manager reports that the air ambulance has arrived at the scene.

– The injured person states that he has pain in his back and that he has been outside for around 12 hours. The man is flown down to the ambulance, and driven on for examinations, reports the operations manager.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

– The police have received good assistance from the local fire brigade, who went to the scene of the accident on snowmobiles. We are now sure that no one else is involved. The injured person is a southerner in his 40s.
