Mönchengladbach, November 20th, 2023, 9:31 a.m., Albertusstrasse (ots)

This morning an ambulance was supposed to transport a patient to a hospital in Mönchengladbach. The ambulance crew quickly discovered that transporting the patient from the upper floor through the stairwell could not be carried out safely using the usual aids. She called in additional emergency services to provide support. The members of the height rescue special task force set up a safety chain with several pulleys in the stairwell to safely lower the patient onto a special basket stretcher. The emergency services also had to take down several doors.

A total of 20 emergency services were involved. During the entire operation, the patient was looked after and received medical care by an emergency doctor and an ambulance crew. The very extensive measure took around 3 hours. The patient was then transported to an emergency hospital in Mönchengladbach.

An emergency fire engine from the fire and rescue station II (Holt), two ambulances, the emergency doctor, the fire brigade crane, the special height rescue task force (SHRT), a special rescue vehicle from the Krefeld professional fire brigade and the management service of the professional fire brigade were in use.
