Al-Neyadi said in the video clip from aboard the International Space Station: “One of the frequent questions we received is, is it possible for astronauts to be exposed to a disease in space? Al Neyadi added: “The pioneers are subject to a two-week quarantine period, to ensure that there is no possibility of infection or transmission of the infection to the individuals on the station, and all of them take basic vaccinations. Al Neyadi added, “If these things happen and we see the injured person, we can deal with these cases. We have special medicines, we have bandages that we give to the injured person, and we are trained in all safety and first aid procedures to deal with the injured person, and we also have direct contact with the doctors on duty at Around the clock, they provide the necessary advice and medical advice.

He explained: “If we see an injured or unconscious person, he may have been subjected to electric shock or has a certain state of suffocation, and here we must not touch him, and make sure that the condition is free from electric shocks, and we transfer him to the operating table in the station and fix him well … and tie ourselves with straps … The work of the team is distributed to provide first aid and pulmonary resuscitation.

Al-Neyadi presented the medicine bags on board the station, saying: “We have medicines and a full pharmacy. We have a medicine bag for diagnosis that contains equipment for measuring pressure, eyes and inflammations, and we report the vital signs to the specialist doctor to determine the type of medicine that can be taken, and there is also a bag containing medicines for blood vessel diseases.” And a special bag for ointments and things that do not need a prescription, such as eye and ear drops, or oral medications, and we also have equipment to clear the airway if someone suffers from shortness of breath, within the emergency equipment, and we have a pulmonary resuscitation and breathing apparatus to give air directly, and we have a mask oxygen that is hooked up to the station’s oxygen supply.”
