Emergency order for two neighborhoods in The Hague: ‘Serious danger if young people congregate here’ | inland

In The Hague, an emergency order is enforced in two neighborhoods until Friday to prevent gangs from forming. It concerns the neighborhoods Venen and Oorden, and especially the area around the Beresteinlaan in the district of Escamp. Police information shows that there is a “serious danger” of violence if groups of young people congregate in that area.

The emergency order allows police to turn away groups of more than two people. The ban on gatherings also applies to the streets Meppelweg, Bouwlustlaan, Hengelolaan and Randveen, writes mayor Jan van Zanen.

An underage boy was stabbed in a convenience store on the Beresteinlaan on Tuesday 27 December. He was seriously injured.

A 32-year-old woman and three minors were arrested for the incident. They all came from The Hague.
