A trauma helicopter landed on the A17 near Moerdijk on Wednesday morning due to a medical emergency. The police and an ambulance were also present. The road was closed as a result. The road was reopened at a quarter past nine.
The spokesman for Rijkswaterstaat cannot say what the emergency was.
The traffic on the road will continue this morning, Rijkswaterstaat expects. The A17 is the diversion route to South Holland, because the Haringvliet bridge is closed. Around a quarter past nine there is about seven kilometers of traffic jam. There is ten kilometers of traffic jams on the connecting A16 at Breda-Noord.
