A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Saturday due to suspicious behavior by one of its passengers

American Airlines flight 4817 from Indianapolis to New York landed at LaGuardia shortly after 3:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. HB), following a “security incident”. People on board the aircraft had reported the suspicious and erratic behavior of one of the passengers during the flight. The pilot then contacted the air traffic control service to ask them to clear a runway in order to make an emergency landing.

Agents intervened at the airport. All 78 passengers and four crew members exited the aircraft using escape slides. There are no casualties. The suspect passenger was arrested.
