Emergency KYSEA following the developments in the Middle East – 2024-10-02 05:23:26

The warring conflict in the Middle East is escalating after last night’s raid by Israel in southern Lebanon and today’s resounding response by Iran with hundreds of missiles that leads the already peaceful situation to the brink of regional war.

The missile attacks are in retaliation for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, as well as the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards in Lebanon, Abbas Nilforoushan, the Revolutionary Guards said.

Jordan suspends air traffic, while Israel suspends flights. Iraq closed its airspace after dozens of missiles were fired from Iran at Israel.

Information indicates that there is a ready evacuation plan from both Lebanon and Israel and if required it will be activated. No evacuations have been requested at this time.

At the request of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus, the Greek Air Force will provide a C-130 transport aircraft for the release of citizens of Cyprus from Lebanon.
