Given the cold wave which is affecting the Gironde department today with negative temperatures at night, the prefect Étienne GUYOT asked the mobile teams to intensify marauding activities to meet people on the streets and has decided to open 40 new accommodation places this evening to provide shelter for families finding themselves on the street.
Last night, 2,073 homeless people were welcomed into structures dedicated to social emergencies in Gironde.
