Emergencies – Halle (Westphalia) – visitor dies when Kelly family performs – panorama

Halle (Westphalia) (dpa / lnw) – A visitor has died during a concert by the Kelly family in Halle (Westphalia). The fan died shortly after the start of the concert “due to a medical emergency,” organizer Semmel Concerts announced on Facebook.

An emergency medical team had previously tried to save the man. The concert was finally canceled on Friday night and did not continue. “Our thoughts are with the deceased and his family,” he said. According to the Gütersloh fire brigade on Sunday, an emergency team tried to revive the man at the scene, without success.

According to “Neuer Westfälischer”, the man collapsed on the first song just two minutes into the concert. For 35 minutes, aides in the hall fought for the man’s life behind a makeshift screen.

After 50 minutes, the band returned to the stage, but only to tell the 4,500 crowd at the OWL Arena that the fan had died and the concert could not continue under the circumstances.

“We pray for the man and his family. Today we cannot have a party on stage. In 50 years of work, nothing like this has ever happened to us,” explained Patricia Kelly, according to “Westfalen-Blatt”. Viewers would show understanding.

The concert in Halle will not be repeated. Tickets could be returned from next week where they were purchased, Semmel Concerts announced on Saturday night. But they could also be exchanged for a tour concert in another city.

The Kelly family kicked off their Christmas tour on November 18 in Krefeld after an almost three-year hiatus. A total of 27 concerts were scheduled. The tour will end in Frankfurt am Main on December 29th.

The group, made up of members of the extended Irish-American Kelly family, has already sold more than 20 million records worldwide with their folk-pop and has had several chart-topping albums. The family has also attracted attention with their unusual lifestyle. For a time he lived in a double-decker bus, on a houseboat and at Gymnich Castle near Cologne.
