EMEL suspends payment of parking meters in Lisbon – O Jornal Económico

EMEL decided to suspend parking meter payments during the week and all day during weekends and holidays until next April 9, according to the newspaper “Correio da Manhã” this Monday, March 16.

According to the daily newspaper, the Lisbon City Council led by Fernando Medina gave orders to suspend the payment of parking meters in the capital due to the need to adjust the procedures in the context of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.

In turn, Empark reported that the 1,500 residents in the Portuguese capital who have nightly covenants in place in their car parks, and that they are only in effect between 6:00 pm and 9:00 am, during the week and all day during the weekends and holidays, they will be able to use the parking for 24 hours every day of the week.
