“Fashion today is largely controlled street clothes. I personally love the fashion of the 70’s much more just think of the bright colors, the original prints and the feminine shapes that determined the fashion image of that time. With my designs I would like to bring more color and femininity back to fashion. When I see how women shine in my clothes, it makes me happy. Don’t hide the woman inside us. Let’s take them. There’s nothing wrong with a sexual attitude.”

“Nature continues to amaze me. Recently my boyfriend and I were walking along the coast of Portugal. Suddenly we saw no less than twenty crescents flying above us. It was a beautiful picture. There is so much beauty that nature treats us with. The fact that those fingers flew towards us when we were expecting our first child made that moment even more special.”

“Entrepreneurship comes with ups and downs. The key is to keep going. At the time of corona it seemed that I would be left with a large collection. But a few months later I was asked by some fashion brands to do a joint creation. In this way, an obstacle could be turned into a new opportunity. It is important to have a vision of the future. That you have a clear picture of where you want to go, but at the same time maintain the flexibility to change your picture along the way.”

“I like birds. Of their beautiful colors and elegant shapes. But also their wings that take them to their destination. Ideas can give you wings too. Don’t hold back your ideas. Talk about it. Put them on paper. Create a mood board with it. But do something with it. If I hadn’t done that, Marylène Madou Fashion and Marylène Interior wouldn’t exist today. They started with an idea, but they got there by shaping it and making it happen step by step.”

“I think a healthy and balanced diet is important. I usually eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and fish. But now and again I make an exception. Then I go to the chip shop and order a pack of fries with or without a hamburger without any shame. Now that I’m pregnant, the love to hamburgers has increased significantly. Luckily I don’t bring it in all the time. But even now I allow myself to sin from time to time. In time and one stood guilty pleasureit must be possible.”

“Sometimes it all gets too much for me. A financial obstacle or an unfulfilled expectation can bring me down. Fortunately, the love of my friend or my dog ​​makes me want to go for it again. For me that means: following my own path and letting the beauty of nature be my guide.”
