Embassy of Turkey in Havana Hosts Turkish Film Festival with Fig Jam and The Magician

The embassy of that nation in Havana, which invites the event in cooperation with the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), reserved Fig Jam (2011), a romantic drama directed by Aytaç Ağırlar, for this Saturday afternoon.

On a night of desperation, after being continually rejected for the scripts he writes, Metin ends up in a bar where he meets Duygu. After spending the night together, she leaves in the morning before he wakes up, she recounts the synopsis.

Then, at 7:00 pm local time, The Magician (2006), directed by Cem Yılmaz and Ali Taner Baltacı, will be screened.

Failed magician Iskender decides to go on tour to save his career, but has to bring his grumpy and senile father. The tour is unexpectedly interrupted when a girlfriend disappears from the stage, the film summary highlights.

Since its inauguration last Wednesday, the Turkish Film Festival also screened the feature films Love is Just a Coincidence (2011), The Butterfly’s Dream (2013) and Between Family (2017).
