“Embassy of Latgale Announces Exhibition Project Competition at Gora Art Gallery”

The Embassy of Latgale “Gors” announces an exhibition project competition for the exhibitions to be seen in the “Gora” Art Gallery. Both artists and exhibition curators in the field of visual art, decorative applied art and design are invited to participate in the project competition, offering group or personal exhibitions, exhibitions created by the curator, etc.

As representatives of “Gora” inform “Delfi”, applications for the competition are accepted until May 22 of this year.

Five to six exhibitions are planned in the “Gora” Art Gallery in 2024, with approximately two months to view one exhibition. It is possible that one of the exhibitions could be moved to the beginning of 2025, after prior coordination with the artist and curator of the exhibition.

The art gallery-type exhibition space at the Latgale embassy “Gors” was opened in February 2016. During this time, the gallery has displayed both unique, resonant, as well as touching, educational and, in large part, exhibition projects specially created for exhibition in Rēzekne, created by Roberts Muzis” Diāna Íve, Āris Smildzers, Osvalds Zvejsalnieks, Taya Bell, Francisks Varslavāns and Franceska Kirke, Magone Boleiko, Annele Slišane, Aigars Bikše, Rolands Krutovs, Vija Zariņa, Romualds Geikins, Aleksejs Naumovs, Kristine Kutepova, Leonarda Laganovska, Signe Vanadziņa, Artis Bute, Anatolij Šandurov, Karine Paronjanca and many other artists.

This year at the “Gora” Art Gallery began with the contemplative but powerful exhibition “Maraņasati. Stories of Latgale houses” created by curator Guntars Gritāns and artist Jānis Shneiders, and Inta Ruka’s photo exhibition “Under the same sky”. Ceramicist Daiņas Pundur’s series of works “Waiting for big animals” and “Vases for invasive flowers” opened the concert hall’s anniversary event cycle “10 as 1”.

The “Gors” Art Gallery of the Embassy of Latgale is one of the most visited art exhibition places not only in the Latgale region, but in the whole of Latvia, giving an opportunity to get acquainted with high-quality works of art and stories for a very wide range of interested people.
