The first nationwide warning day on Thursday went completely wrong: Instead of howling sirens and warning messages on cell phones, nothing happened in large parts of the country. In the late afternoon, the Federal Ministry of the Interior admitted on the short message service Twitter: The triggering of the test alarm had “failed due to a technical problem”. The ministry announced that the processes would now be fully processed. There was ridicule on Twitter, but also criticism: “In an emergency, I would be dead now,” it said.
