Emanuela Orlandi, the singing teacher: «Ratzinger wanted to find the truth. The cash register? It is in the basement of Santa Maria Maggiore”

yesterday, Monsignor Valentino Miserachschoir singing teacher Emanuela Orlandi, heard by the bicameral commission of inquiry investigating the disappearance of the young Vatican citizen, which occurred on 22 June 1983. During his statement to the commission, Miserachs confirmed that he had already been questioned by the Vatican in 2012, following an internal investigation by Pope Benedict XVI to “bring light to the matter”.

According to reports, he was called by the head of the Vatican Gendarmerie, in the presence of the adviser of the Secretary of State. However, he says that he does not know if, apart from himself, other commentators of the Church were listened to.

Among the elements that emerged during the hearing, Miserachs described a meeting that took place a few years later with Pietro Orlandi, Emanuela’s brother, and Francesca Immacolata Chaouquiwho was a member of the Vatican Commission of Accounts (COSEA). Chaouqui would have talked about having one employment which contains documents and items that are crucial to discovering the mystery of Emanuela Orlandi’s disappearance.

A box that would have been hidden in the basement of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore: according to what Chaouqui himself said, it would have been delivered to the hands of the cardinal April Saints and later he was buried in the canon cemetery of the basilica. Miserachs confirmed that, although he is a canon at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, he does not have access to that area, which is currently under commission. Pietro Orlandi had already publicly denounced the difficulty of accessing the basement of the basilica, encountering three locked doors that prevented access.

During the investigation, the name of the musician also appeared Alberto Laurentiwho was a student at the same school as Emanuela.
