Medium is often not implemented professionally – but why is that?

Vienna (pts003 / 24.10.2020 / 16:25) – There is a simple reason for the reckless use of this medium, says the Email Marketing Academy. But many companies make a fundamental mistake in their thinking.

Take a quick test and answer the following questions about the newsletter you last sent:
* Has a professional graphic designer or agency selected or created the images?
* Was there a four-eyes principle?
* Has an A / B test been carried out (e.g. for the subject line)?
* Was there a content plan for the content?
* Has a copywriter created the texts and an editor checked the mailing?
* Were the key figures analyzed after dispatch and measures derived from them?

One can guess: most companies answered “no” to several of these questions.

This is exactly a fundamental problem in email marketing: it is not taken seriously as a medium and is often not implemented professionally.

There is one main reason for the carelessness that is often shown when creating a newsletter: because it hardly costs anything. Because the shipping costs are usually in the cent range and thus often a factor of one hundred below the costs of a postal mailing. Not to mention the cost of a print ad.
