Dubai, May 11 / WAM / Emaar Properties announced strong financial results in the first quarter of 2023, thanks to the increase in its real estate sales and the success it is witnessing in all its business sectors.
The company recorded revenues of 6.3 billion dirhams ($1.7 billion) in the first quarter of 2023, supported by activity in the tourism sector, retail sales, as well as an increase in demand for real estate projects in Dubai.
During the same period, the company achieved growth in profits before tax, interest and depreciation of 4 billion dirhams ($1.1 billion), an increase of 26 percent, and a net profit of 3.2 billion dirhams ($873 billion), an increase of 43 percent compared to the first quarter. From 2022.

This achievement is attributed to achieving gains from the sale of Namshi worth 700 million dirhams, in addition to an increase in record sales to tenants by 30 percent compared to the first quarter of 2022.. while the tenant occupancy rate in the basic assets managed by Emaar Shopping Centers Management Company reached more than 95 percent. Emaar’s hospitality, leisure, entertainment and commercial leasing business recorded revenues of 884 million dirhams during the first quarter of 2023, a growth of 17 percent compared to the same period last year.

This performance comes as a result of the continued recovery in the tourism sector and the increase in domestic spending after Emaar Hospitality’s hotels in the UAE, including those managed by Emaar Hospitality, achieved an average occupancy rate of 75 per cent during the first quarter of 2023.
Emaar’s diversified portfolio of businesses with recurring returns, including shopping centres, hospitality, entertainment, leisure and leasing combined, recorded revenues of 2.3 billion dirhams during the first quarter of 2023, an increase of 11 percent compared to the first quarter of 2022. The revenues from these businesses constitute 37 percent of Emaar’s total revenues.
