Kasper Hjulmand (49) made waves in front of all four stands. He enjoyed every moment after the 4-1 win against Russia. What the Danish coach (in office since 2020) does at the European Championship (round of 16) is unique.
After the drama about Christian Eriksen (29), Hjulmand was the first to laugh again. He set up his team in the exceptional situation.
BILD asked Hjulmand after the magical night in Copenhagen: “How were you able to master the toughest job of your life?” Hjulmand humbly: “Because I have a great team, great people and great players around me. I can’t do it alone! We are one unit, we help each other and stand together. “

On February 17, 2015, he finished in 14th place. The players lacked variety in training, they had long since lost faith in Hjulmand.
Denmark’s stars rave about Hjulmand today. Joakim Maehle (24), the shooter to make it 4-1 against Russia: “It’s a man’s achievement that we can go out and deliver such an achievement.”
Now it’s against Wales. The European Championship has only just really started for these Danes …
