Through its sustainable development initiatives and continued investment in energy-efficient projects, the national food retail network ELVI will invest more than half a million euros in the coming months and install solar panels to generate electricity in major grocery stores. It is planned that in the first phase of the project, at least 10% of all network stores will be equipped with solar equipment.

The installation of solar panels for electricity generation is the next step in promoting the sustainable development of the ELVI store network – in recent years, many stores have been equipped with heat recovery technologies and energy-efficient retail equipment, which has managed to be environmentally responsible and optimize sales costs. The installation of solar panels for electricity generation is a continuation of these initiatives, which will further reduce the stores’ dependence on external factors, allowing them to work energy efficiently.
We started the solar installation project in the middle of last year, recognizing both the specifics of the stores and the capabilities of the equipment manufacturers, but the energy efficiency crisis in recent months only confirms that this initiative is important and can be implemented as soon as possible. coordination of the planned solutions with the responsible institutions, and in the near future solar panels for more than half a million euros will be installed at points of sale in Vidzeme region and Kurzeme.
