The government states that they are allowed to pay a short visit to 17 of the 27 EU countries, but according to entertainment union Bectu, the bureaucratic rules within the country concerned are not taken into account.

entertainment">Elton therefore labels the information from the government as lies. “It’s a nightmare. It is terrible for young people who are at the beginning of their career,” the singer tells The Observer. “The government is made up of cultural barbarians. We are used to governments – especially the British – telling us lies every day and I don’t think that’s okay.”

entertainment">The way in which the British government has dealt with the British health service NHS is also unacceptable, according to the singer. “After what all those people did during corona, they got a 1 percent salary increase. I find that extremely remarkable. I can’t live with that, it makes me so angry.”

People like me can afford to go to Europe because others are handling our paperwork, but what drives me crazy is that the entertainment industry brings in £111 billion a year into this country and we’re just thrown in the trash.
