Elsen and Monaco wave from above

North: three double winners in the north
Three double winners caused a lot of movement at the top of the Nord squadron over the weekend: ST Hubertus Elsen, BSV Buer-Bülse I and SV Wieckenberg were the big winners and finished first, third and third ahead of the last four races of the round preliminary four .
Istvan Peni from Elsen was the man of the weekend in the home competition in Paderborn: He didn’t miss a beat against Anna Janßen from Kevelaer (399) and Charleen Bänisch from Gölzau (389) and scored perfect 400 rings twice: “I’m very happy with my result, it was my third 400 in a row this season and I think I’m the first shooter to ever shoot a 400 twice in the Bundesliga. Obviously it’s fantastic, especially as it was our home competition.” As expected, it was spectacular against defending champion SSG Kevelaer: in the end, Bastian Blos scored the decisive third point in the play-offs with a 10.5 to 10.4 against Kevelaer’s Alexander Thomas in this totally even match (1982:1983 rings): “I have no words for my team. Everyone had a good time, we worked at the stand in a clean and safe way,” says Peni.

The shooters from BSV Buer-Bülse I also scored an impressive 1983 points in the 5-0 win against SV Kamen. Exceptional: Jessie Kaps, who shot perfectly for the first time: “I shot 400 for the first time in the Bundesliga and I’m super happy that I was able to untie this knot. I’m especially happy after the last difficult moment to have found my good form. I changed a bit of my technique and worked hard.” In addition to the crushing victory against Kamen, there was also a 3:2 victory against Knowledge SV, so Kaps was satisfied: “The successes of the weekend were important for us to get the living room to the top of the table. There we are succeeded. I’m happy and can’t wait for the rest of the season to come.”

This certainly also applies to SV Wieckenberg, who after beating the hosts SB Freiheit I 4-1 and beating the strong climbers of Team Wetterau 3-2, such as Freiheit, Buer-Bülse and SV Petersberg, are at 10-4 points. Above all, the 4-1 win over previous leaders, Freiheit, was hugely significant: “Obviously we were hoping for a win against Freiheit, but were pleasantly surprised we won,” Melissa Ruschel provided insight into the inner workings of the teams. As of now, the team would be fourth in the Bundesliga final: “Obviously we are happy with the good position and hope we can keep it, which will be far from easy with our next opponents,” said Ruschel.

South: Four double winners in the South
Lonely (but happy) Der Bund München leads the table in the southern season. The club from the Bavarian capital remains the only undefeated team in the Air Rifle Bundesliga even after the seventh competition. At the weekend he was 3:2 against SSG Dynamit Fürth and 4:1 against SV Petersaurach in a top duel.
But not only the people of Munich were happy with a double victory, that also applies to SV Pfeil Vöhringen. The host of Bundesliga finals in Neu-Ulm on 4./5. February achieved two very important 3:2 victories against SV Germania Prittlbach and SV Fenken. Hannah Steffen, who shot first, said later: “It was a great competition. Both opponents were super strong and it was exciting until the end. It was a back and forth of points. Obviously we were very happy that the races ended positively for us. After all, these were decisive races to get into the final.” It goes without saying for Steffen that the fourth place finisher (10:4 points) now has to improve: “. However, we are also aware that the next four competitions will not be easy and that we will still have to fight hard to win them. However, we are confident and obviously want to be in the final on home soil!

After the weekend, the SSV Kronau can also dream a little about the final. There were three notable events in the successes over SG Coburg (3:2) and FSG Diessen (4:1): Max Braun scored the winning point against the favored team Coburg in a goose flick against David Koenders (10 :9) and against This was a new club record with 1975 rings and the first 400 in Larissa Weindorf’s career. In the end, he literally “shaked” on target, as he admitted: “My best result so far was 399 rings, where I had a 9.9 on the last shot. Of course, I had it in my head today, but thanks god i managed to get that out of my head i started shaking on the last series and my wrist kept getting worse but i just gripped the gun harder on the last shot and pulled the trigger at the right time i couldnt do anything “More with the swing. I’m very happy with the 400 and think it’s the competition I’ve never been more nervous about. The Bundesliga is a different feeling after all.” With 8:6 points, the view is now up, down “down” is a four-point lead Weindorf sees it the same way: “I think we’re safe ahead of the lower positions, but let’s see if we can advance even further. It’s a great feeling to be safe in the Bundesliga.”

SV Niederlauterbach, who were still winless at the bottom of the table before the weekend, certainly have that goal. But with the double victory against Diessen (3:2) and SVVG Brigachtal (4:1), a major release against direct competition was achieved. Excitement is inevitable for the upcoming competitions, as the league is extremely evenly matched: nine out of twelve duels ended 3:2 (all six on Saturday), seven teams are fighting for the final places, five teams against relegation. And the still winless bottom side SV Fenken is not to be deleted, they lost both games very unfortunately with 2:3 (against Petersaurach in the jump-off).
