American billionaire Elon Musk said in a post yesterday, Sunday, that the emerging artificial intelligence company XAI will be integrated into the X social media platform that he owns, and that it will also be available as an independent application.
Musk also said that the startup launched its first artificial intelligence model, called “Grok,” after making it available on Friday to all X Premium subscribers, which is a distinctive service to improve the quality of conversations that take place on the X platform.
The startup aims to create artificial intelligence tools that “assist humanity in its quest for understanding and knowledge,” and Grok is designed to answer questions with a modicum of intelligence.
Musk, who has criticized big tech companies’ AI efforts as rife with censorship tactics, launched the company’s Bing, a subsidiary of Microsoft.
“The GROC model has real-time access to information via the X platform, which is a huge advantage compared to other models,” Musk added.
Last week, Musk told British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that he believes artificial intelligence is “the most destructive force in history.” During the first global AI safety summit in England, Musk predicted that this technology would be able to “do everything” and make employment as we know it today a thing of the past.
