Elon Musk says his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, is taking on the legal costs of people who are fighting with their employers over their behavior on X. “If you’ve been treated unfairly by your employer because of something you platform, we pay the legal costs,” he writes on X. According to Musk, there is no limit to that assistance.
The billionaire, who has owned the platform since last year, renamed Twitter to X last month. He says he is committed to freedom of expression and has been very critical of Twitter’s moderation rules in the past, which he found too strict.
Speaking to an X user, Musk says he wants to go beyond just paying legal fees for users who are at odds with their employers. The user writes that “Elon understands that behavior is changing fastest in the US due to the threat of lawsuits,” to which Musk responds in the affirmative. “Not only will we sue, we will be extremely loud and also go after corporate boards of directors.”
Cage fight
The announcement of compensation for X users with a labor dispute wasn’t the only notable piece of news Musk shared on X today. He also announced that his planned cage fight with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be livestreamed on Twitter. All proceeds will go to veterans’ charities, he said.
Musk says he is practicing for his mate with Zuckerberg. “I’m lifting weights all day long to prepare for the fight. I don’t have time to train so I just bring my weights to work,” said the billionaire and CEO of Tesla, among others, SpaceX and X know.
