“Elon Musk’s Twitter Shenanigans Continue: Changes Company Name to ‘Titter’ on Headquarters Logo”

– After the temporary logo change, Twitter is now getting a new name. At least that’s how it appears at first glance on the company logo in San Francisco.

Elon Musk took over Twitter in October 2022. Since then, the tech billionaire has been committed to changes, some of which are very controversial. For example, it laid off half of its employees, tried to make it difficult for its users to interact with a competing online service, and most recently replaced the blue bird with the symbol of the digital currency Dogecoin. Now Elon Musk has come up with something new: he has changed the Twitter lettering at the company headquarters.

Twitter’s headquarters are at 1355 Market Street in San Francisco. There, on the corner of 10th Street, you can see a hanging board with the company logo, the blue bird, and the words “@twitter” underneath. But in a tweet from Easter Monday, Elon Musk shows a photo of the scoreboard, where “Titter” can be read instead of Twitter. He wrote: “Our landlord at the San Francisco HQ says we are required by law to keep the Twitter sign and not remove the ‘W’ so we painted it the background color. Problem solved!”

In fact, Elon Musk has been thinking about changing the name of the short message service for some time. In April 2022, Twitter users could vote on whether to drop the “W” in the name. The tech billionaire only gave the options “Yes” and “Of course”. The survey was then deleted.

Trouble with building landlord

According to “Spiegel”, Elon Musk has been at war with the landlord, SRI Nine Market Square LLC, for a long time. The tech billionaire was even sued for not paying rent. It is not known whether the name change “Titter” should have a special meaning. The English term stands for “giggles” in German. Maybe the tech billionaire just has a good sense of humor.
