Tesla CEO Elon Musk is said to have been involved in the creation of a fake video filmed in 2016 about the operation of the unmanned system. This became known thanks to the openness of an employee.
Foreign media write about the 2016 video that is still available on the web, which demonstrates the capabilities of Tesla’s autopilot. It turns out to be a fake, and Musk personally instructed the development team and monitored the performance of each employee. Musk also participated in the design of the audio part of the video, where it is emphasized that “a person is in the driver’s seat only for legal reasons. He doesn’t do anything. The car drives itself”.
It has now been revealed that it was a fake, because electronics were not ready for such tasks at that time. During the filming of the video, the driver was repeatedly forced to take control of the Tesla Model X, but when trying to park the crossover in automatic mode, the car drove into the factory wall.
We remind you that in mid-January information spread on the Internet that the video filmed in 2016 in which Tesla demonstrates the Full Self-Driving option was staged. The director of Tesla’s autonomous driving project, Ashok Elluswami, told the media about it.
Despite the fact that more than six years have passed since the presentation, even today the system is not fully autonomous – the electronics are still unable to operate completely independently, requiring the driver’s hands to be placed on the steering wheel from time to time.
