The Museum of Failure or the Museum of Failure usually showcases failed products and technologies from time to time. But in its latest exhibition, the Museum of Failure is also exhibiting Elon Musk and a number of failures.
At the Museum of Failure’s latest exhibition in Brooklyn, New York, Musk managed to be part of the exhibition for 14 reasons, including giving his two children strange names: X AE A-XII and Exa Dark Sideræl.
Some of Musk’s other failings to highlight include his involvement with PayPal, which nearly bankrupted Tesla and SpaceX in 2008, and his tweets taking Tesla private which he was later sued for.
In addition, Musk was also ridiculed for being the record holder for the person who lost the largest personal fortune in the history of the Guinness World Records version, and his failure to escape the obligation to buy Twitter worth USD 44 billion.
The exhibition also recognized success Muskincluding the successes of Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the title of the world’s richest man before he was ousted by LVMH boss Bernard Arnault.
“As one, if not the most divisive figure of the past decade, Elon Musk’s status continues to be hotly debated,” the Museum of Failure said on its display, as quoted from Insider, Tuesday (2/5/2023).
“Sure, Tesla revolutionized the electric car industry, but Musk didn’t actually invent the technology; he invested smartly. Does investing in a challenging business count as innovation? Look at his legacy and decide for yourself: was he a failure or a success?” he continued.
Even so, Musk don’t see failure as something that disappoints. The owner and CEO of Twitter has said that failure is important for the company to be successful.
“If things don’t fail, you’re not innovating enough,” Musk said, in a speech delivered in London in 2012.
