Multibillionaire and eccentric. Then you sometimes make crazy plans. Or as Elon Musk wrote on his X account in Latin: “Dulce est desipere in loco”, or: “It’s nice to be silly sometimes”. A while ago, Elon Musk posted a defiant tweet to Mark Zuckerberg, specifically that he would like a cage fight.
The plans now seem to be getting more concrete. Musk has had a conversation with Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano. And that minister has announced after the “long and friendly” conversation that the fight can take place at a historic location in Italy, although it will not be in Rome (and therefore the legendary Colosseum).
On X, Musk has given some more details. The event would be livestreamed on X and the Meta platforms and the organization would be in the hands of the Musk and Zuckerberg foundations. On camera everything will look like in Ancient Rome. “Gladiator,” Elon Musk posted on his X account.
