Elon Musk wants to fire 50% of Twitter employees

Jakarta

After saying he would fire 75% of his employees Twitternow it is said Elon Musk lowering this figure to 50%, of the total of 7,500 Twitter employees.

Musk’s initial plan to lay off 75% of Twitter employees, he later corrected, an undisclosed amount. But now there is a problem that says Musk will still fire Twitter employees in large numbers, reaching 50%.

According to three sources cited by the Washington Post, on Sunday (30.10.2022), the layoff plan will take place anyway. There are already several divisions that could be the main targets of the layoffs, such as the division that deals with content moderation.

Security and privacy executives are also said to have been asked to draw up a list of employees to be fired. Two unnamed sources said the layoffs would have occurred before November 1, when the employees will receive the scholarship, so they will no longer be compensated.

This layoff plan appears to be part of Musk’s grand plan to completely overhaul Twitter. Including the firing of a number of high-ranking Twitter officials, such as CEO Parag Agrawal and several other C-level officials shortly after Musk confirmed his Twitter acquisition.

Musk himself is known as a cruel figure and will “wring” all skills from his employees. He did not hesitate to fire employees who behave badly. But he himself has a unique ability because he manages to attract people to work in his company, for example by proposing a mission linked to “changing the world”.

According to the experience of a former Tesla employee, Elon Musk is very focused on his duties, rarely socializes with staff and does not hesitate to fire anyone who does not fit his strategy.

This was stated by Carl Medlock, Tesla’s former Territory Manager. “You can’t argue with him. When Elon Musk stands up at the end of the meeting and says, this is where we’re all going, you get up and you better follow that lead,” he said.

Medlock joined Tesla in 2009, recruited by LinkedIn. At Tesla, he claimed to get many benefits, including a high salary and stock options.

Elon Musk went to interview him himself. He asked about his work experience of him. “He Actually he’s a very nice guy,” Medlock said.

“He was very smart, so he was intimidating about it, but he loved his kids, he loved his family, he was a great father and it was easy to talk to him. We argued and I got the job,” Medlock said.
