The inaugural trial of Twitter’s lawsuit against Musk will be held for five days, starting on October 17, as compiled KompasTekno from CNBCWednesday (3/8/2022).

Trigger lawsuit

Musk’s decision to cancel Twitter acquisition on July 8 (US time) was the start of the lawsuit filed by Twitter. The Tesla executive accused Twitter of violating the agreement by misrepresenting the number of spam accounts on its platform.

“For nearly two months, Musk has been requesting the data and information needed to ‘make an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on the Twitter platform,'” Musk’s attorney wrote, quoted by KompasTekno from TheVerge.

“However, Twitter has failed or refused to provide this information,” Musk added via his legal team.

A few days later after Musk announced the cancellation of the acquisition, Twitter reacted by suing Elon Musk and demanding accountability for the acquisition agreement.

“Twitter took this action to prevent Musk from further infringement, to compel Musk to fulfill his legal obligations, and to force the completion of the merger after meeting several unresolved conditions,” Twitter wrote in its lawsuit.
