Jakarta –
Elon Musk have 3 giant companies in their respective fields, viz SpaceX, Tesla and he added to his portfolio of work late last year, when it acquired Twitter for $44 billion and appointed himself CEO. One of the richest people in the world also admits that he is struggling to share his time.
The South African-born man recently announced his successor for the role of CEO of Twitter, however, that job remains his current responsibility and he also remains CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.
He spoke about trying to manage his schedule in an interview at The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit. “My days are as long and complicated as you can imagine,” Musk was quoted as saying detikINET from CNBC.
Musk said he usually tries to split his schedule so that one company is allotted one day at a time. But that isn’t always possible.
For example Tuesday is ‘Tesla day’, but he might end up on Twitter late at night. So tomorrow will be part Tesla day too, half Twitter and then Thursday will be half SpaceX and half Tesla. He admits that time management is very difficult for him to do.
Perhaps the difficulties had an impact on the company’s performance. Tesla shares lost more than half their value in the two months after the Twitter deal was finalized last year, fearing that Musk would have less time to focus on the electric car maker even as the market becomes more competitive.
Meanwhile, advertisers fled or paused their campaigns on Twitter, and in March, the company’s value was just $20 billion. Elon Musk himself remains optimistic that many of Twitter’s advertisers will eventually return.
