Elon Musk says Tesla will have to reduce staffing by around 10 percent, reports Reuters and refers to an email the electric car manufacturer has sent out to senior employees on Thursday.
The email instructs managers to stop all hiring around the world.
Musk expresses that he has a very bad feeling about the economy:
“I have a super bad feeling about the economy,” it says in the email, according to the news agency.
Tesla employed more than 28,500 full-time employees last year, an increase of 40 percent, and the workforce was close to 100,000 in 2021, according to MarketWatch.
