Recently, the billionaire Elon Musk, one of the richest people on the planet, published X on his social network mailwhich listed several iconic sci-fi movies that made us “take sides”:
You watched The Hunger Games and you were on the opposite side.
You were watching Star Wars and you were on the opposite side.
You watched The Matrix and you were on the opposite side.
You saw Divergent and you were on the opposite side.
You watched V for Vendetta and you were on the opposite side.
When it comes to fiction, you understand everything. But you refuse to see the truth when everything is in the reality you live in.
It’s wild.
All of these films have a common theme of downtrodden heroes who fight against various oppressive regimes that have seized wealth and resources.
Although Elon Musk’s political leanings are well known, a meme post like this raised a lot of eyebrows on social media. Does Musk really consider himself part of the struggle? Does one of the richest men in the world even understand what these movies are about?
The mask can hardly be called a symbol of resistance – it has great power and money. It is much closer to those who set the rules and set the agenda than to those who fight against the oppressive system. Although the image of Musk once corresponded to the character of a visionary defying established standards, this image has disappeared in recent years.
