There’s no doubt the billionaire wants to rival WhatsApp, but today’s announcement of three planned copycat features is actually part of his grander vision to turn Twitter into the most comprehensive platform for all kinds of media out there, even before he buys it. Social networking site For $44 billion last year, Musk has long discussed his plans to create something like this.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, Elon Musk believes that there should be one place where users can access most, if not all of his favorite online services.
Experts previously suggested that he might be looking at something with a lot of different services including messaging, social media, payments and food orders.
But what are these features that sparked all this controversy?
Musk recently revealed a series of changes, including the launch of encrypted direct messages (DMs), the non-public messages that users send to each other, and the billionaire added that video and voice chat functionality is coming soon, bringing Twitter in line with social meta platforms, including WhatsApp which have similar features.
