Elon Musk offered Wikipedia a billion dollars, but only if the encyclopedia changed its name to something crude for “at least” a year.
The billionaire businessman, 52, took to his site *ipedia”.
The owner of Tesla and SpaceX wrote: “I’ll give them a billion dollars if they change their name to D***ipedia.”
When one user pointed out that they might change their name again after putting the money in the bank, they replied: “A year minimum. I mean I’m not stupid lol.”
In 2019, Musk asked Wikipedia to remove the word “investor” from its page.
The Tesla CEO claimed that he was “basically not making any investments”, which is why he asked the site’s owners to remove this erroneous fact.
He tweeted at the time: “Just looked at my wiki for the first time in years. This is crazy! Can someone remove ‘investor’ please. I don’t make practically no investment. (sic)”
And his profile was quickly updated with the term “business mogul”, “at the request of Elon Musk”.
