Elon Musk met in a secret place with the permanent representative of Iran to the UN

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who was appointed by US President Donald Trump to head the government’s new efficiency department, met with Iran‘s permanent representative to the UN Amir Saeed Iravani. They discussed ways to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington. This was reported by the New York Times referring to two Iranian officials.

According to the newspaper’s interlocutors, the meeting was held on November 11 in New York. The talks lasted more than an hour and took place in a secret place. Sources The New York Times respect meeting as positive.

One of the publication’s correspondents noted that the meeting with Musk allowed Tehran to use a method to avoid direct talks with American officials. It is also reported that, during the conversation, Iravani suggested that Musk move part of his business to Iran, after receiving permission from the American Treasury.

A Trump spokesman declined to comment, saying the meeting was private. Musk and the Iranian mission to the UN also did not comment on the talks.
