Expectations for Musk’s new company are that it will become an equal competitor to the famous chat bot ChatGPT. For now, however, there is no information on what the exact purpose of Musk’s new project is against the backdrop of concerns about artificial intelligence. However, both parties in the US Senate agreed that the technology should be regulated.
“The goal is to get all 100 senators to reach the decision to actually get legislation passed,” said Senator Marco Rubio of the state of Florida.
Now the big question is how to regulate artificial intelligence. The White House briefed lawmakers on its concerns related to national security, the economy and jobs in the United States.
“The development of artificial intelligence will put some people out of work, create new jobs and eliminate others. There will be a real public impact,” Florida State Senator Rubio said.
Some lawmakers say Congress should consider passing measures to limit the technology’s rapid development.
