Elon Musk is optimistic that NASA can fly astronauts to the moon in 2024

SAN FRANCISCO, iNews.id – NASA plans to land humans on the Moon in 2024. Elon Musk does not consider NASA’s Moon landing destination in 2024 out of reach.

In 2019, the Donald Trump administration directed NASA to make the first Artemis crew landings by 2024. Experts generally view the target as too ambitious, and it is unclear whether the timeline will survive under President Joe Biden.

But Musk, the billionaire founder and CEO of SpaceX, thinks that can actually be achieved with the company’s Starship space transport system, which NASA recently selected as Artemis’s manned lunar lander.

“I think it will happen. I think 2024 looks likely, “Musk said on Friday morning (April 23) in a press conference following the successful launch of the SpaceX Crew-2 mission, which sent four astronauts to the International Space Station under contract with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

“We will aim for sooner than that,” he said.
