Musk’s net worth exceeded 74,000 million of dollars, thus surpassing the fortunes of the richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, of the former CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, and of the American investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett, who now occupy positions six, seven and eight of the list, respectively.
For his part, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos continues to lead the ranking with an estimated fortune of $ 189 billion, followed by the French businessman who owns the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH, Bernard Arnault; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
“I couldn’t care less”
Tesla shares gained another 9.5% in trading on Monday to hit $ 1,643, up 60% in just three weeks from June 29, accumulating an increase of almost 300% in 2020.
Forbes estimates that Musk’s fortune has nearly tripled since mid-March, when he ranked 31st on the list with a net worth of just under $ 25 billion.
“I couldn’t really care less,” the magnate himself told Forbes in early July, referring to his fortune. “Those numbers go up and down, but what really matters is making great products that people like,” he said.
