Elon Musk, CEO of X (formerly Twitter), recently expressed his admiration for young Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. On a recent Tucker Carlson podcast, Musk got wind of an interview with Ramaswamy and couldn’t resist sharing his excitement. He called Ramaswamy “the breath of fresh air in the Republican party.”
Known for his progressive take on digital currencies, Ramaswamy has amplified calls for a more crypto-friendly environment in the US. He made waves at an event in Miami where he announced that he would accept Bitcoin as a campaign donation – a move that established him as a leading candidate for the 2024 election.
The idea of accepting Bitcoin as a campaign donation was not new. For example, in this campaign we see the same thing on the Democratic side in the form of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This only emphasizes how bitcoin is becoming more and more deeply entrenched in the American financial and political system.
But Ramaswamy’s path to the White House is not without obstacles. Legal clouds are currently hanging over his head due to allegations from former employees of a company he co-founded.
