According to Variety, the director of the Warner Bros. film has sent… And Aquaman’s James Wan wrote a letter to Heard’s lawyer, Carl Austin, after the film’s release in 2018 to share the decision to exclude Heard from the sequel, citing a lack of chemistry with the film’s co-star Jason Momoa.

However, according to Variety, Warner Bros. decided not to fire Heard after her ex-boyfriend Musk and his lawyer “sent a letter to Warner Bros., in which he threatened to burn down the film’s set if Heard did not return for the sequel.”
