Elon Musk has recently attracted a lot of attention for endorsing anti-Semitic remarks on Twitter/X. In particular, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, IBM, Lionsgate and other companies have successively withdrawn their advertisements on X lost as much as $75 million in advertising revenue this year, and Elon Musk responded to this during an interview at DealBook Summit yesterday.
During the interview, the topic of Disney CEO Bob Iger’s withdrawal of advertising was discussed. Elon Musk quickly responded: “I hope they stop advertising. If anyone tries to blackmail me with advertising or money, Go fxxk you self. Is that clear enough?” ?” Then Elon Musk also pointed out that if advertisers continue to boycott, this company will be destroyed.
Returning to the anti-Semitic remarks themselves, Elon Musk said: “Looking back, I should not have responded to that person. Essentially, I handed a loaded gun to the people who hated me, who presumably were really anti-Semitic. Man, I’m sorry about that, that was not my intention.” However, the entire interview was actually a bit bizarre. Elon Musk explained on the one hand, but also said provocative words on the other hand, in order to vindicate his previous anti-Semitic remarks. Words rarely help.
However, a passage worth noting is that Elon Musk pointed out: “Tesla has reached its current level without any advertising. Our sales of electric vehicles are twice that of all U.S. automakers combined. Tesla has done more to protect the environment than any other company.” That’s more than all the companies combined. It’s fair to say that as a leader of a company, I’ve done more for the environment than any other person on the planet.”
When asked by the host what Elon Musk thinks about having such power and influence, he responded: “What I care about is the reality of kindness rather than feelings. All I see everywhere are people. You want to look good, but behind the scenes you do evil things, Fxxk these people.”
