Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk became the richest man in world history with a fortune of $ 272.3 billion. This was announced on Tuesday by the American magazine Forbes, quoted by “Focus”.
Musk was able to achieve this figure, among other things, thanks to a sharp rise in the price of Tesla shares – on Monday their growth exceeded 13%, which allowed the company to overcome the market value of 1 trillion dollars. As a result, Musk’s capital grew by more than $ 41 billion in one day.
Earlier, Musk topped the list of the richest people in the world according to Forbes – as of September 28, 2021, his fortune amounted to over $ 203.4 billion. In second place in the ranking is Jeff Bezos, and in third place – the CEO of the French company LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) Bernard Arnault. The top five include Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Tesla was founded by Musk in 2003. It was originally called Tesla Motors, but was later renamed Tesla. Initially, the company specialized only in the production of electric vehicles, but later became involved in the creation of solar panels and other energy storage systems.
