Serious allegations of sexual harassment were made against Elon Musk (50) on Friday. But the richest man in the world could only smile at first.
As Business Insider had reported, his company is said to have paid around 250,000 US dollars (almost 236,500 euros) to a SpaceX flight attendant in 2018 after Musk had exposed himself to her on a flight to London two years earlier and had become sexually assaulted. He offered her a horse in exchange for sex, it said.
According to the woman’s allegations, she is said to have been disadvantaged professionally at SpaceX. After a conversation with Musk and a mediator, an out-of-court agreement was reached. But now the allegations have come to light.
For the Tesla boss, it was apparently rather amusing so far. Because on Twitter he joked: “Finally we can take Elongate as a scandal name. It’s kind of perfect.” He added a tearful laughing emoji. In the numerous comments under the tweet, however, it quickly became clear that many of his followers did not feel like laughing. “Not exactly funny” or “You can’t laugh away such allegations” was read there. The allegations also caused uncertainty among investors. Tesla shares have since fallen eight percent.

Because then the multi-billionaire suddenly reported that Tesla would set up a “hardcore legal department” and called on lawyers with “extraordinary skills” to apply to him. For this he published the telling email address “[email protected]”.
Hours later, he added to his tweet: “We’re looking for hardcore street fighters” and promised: “There will be blood.”
