Elon Musk and Tesla will raise the prices of all Model Y models in the United States by $1,000 starting April 1, according to the news agency Reuters.
On March 1, the company increased the prices of the rear-wheel drive Model Y and the Long Range model by $1,000 to $43,990 and $48,990, respectively. Tesla did not explicitly make it clear whether the increase in April would be in addition to the increase in March for the rear-wheel drive and Long Range models.
Tesla had temporarily cut the prices of some of its Model Y cars in the US in February.
In February, the company cut the prices of the Model Y and Model Y Long Range by $1,000.
“This is the essential challenge of manufacturing: factories need continuous output for efficiency, but demand is seasonal,” CEO Elon Musk wrote in February at X.
Drag help from Biden
