A few weeks ago, we learned about the arrival of a new option on X, which was also enabled by default. This is indeed the data sharing option, which was supposed to allow training Grok Artificial Intelligence with user data.
A parameter that is a little too well hidden…
It was certainly possible to deactivate it, but the process was a little too well hidden for the taste of European regulators, who did not fail to make this known and to apply pressure. Elon Musk – like others – has given in and now Grok will no longer use the Europeans’ publications on X to improve his results. It is clear that none of the tech giants can stand up to the commission, not even the very eccentric businessman who sends everyone packing.
It must be said that The Irish Privacy Authority had filed a complaint early August, accusing X of illegally collecting personal data from European users to train Grok. However, the GDPR prohibits any data collection without the explicit consent of users, which was clearly not the case.

What is Grok?
Developed by Elon Musk’s start-up (xAI), Grok has been available – since mid-May – in Europe to all users with an X Premium subscription. In practice, This AI is currently part of the services included in the X Premium+ subscription. At first glance, the interface looks similar to ChatGPT, but the businessman claims his product is better.
Apparently, it will have real-time access to information from the social network X, and in a more direct way since it will be integrated into it. And this internal path – without going through search engines – will undoubtedly be a great strength for Grok. The budget allocated by the billionaire could also explain the speed of development of xAI.
Finally, Elon Musk had issued a nice warning to his network subscribers: Grok would be very impertinent and highly sarcastic! And this would be felt in the answers given!
