Elon Musk announced via Twitter that Tesla merchandise is for sale with Doge. The Tesla boss told exactly a month ago that Tesla was planning this. The announcement has already increased the price by 30%.

This time it doesn’t affect that much. It may seem like Elon Musk has had a lot of influence on the price, but nothing could be further from the truth. Doge’s price has risen ‘only’ 5% so far, since Elon’s tweet. Compared to last month’s announcement, this is peanuts. The increase is most likely because others already realized that Tesla would accept doge for merch. For example, several tweets were posted before Elon’s.

Influence on the price
The chart below shows how much percent the memecoin rose before the tweet was posted. The price went from just over 16 cents to 19 cents before Elon’s message. In euros that is approximately from 14 to 16.5 euro cents.
This is the umpteenth time that Elon makes sure that Doge flies into the sky. He is not called the Dogefather for nothing. Previously, just like last month, he has provided significant profits for doge holders. It almost seems like a trading strategy to keep doge until Elon Musk throws a tweet into the world (or something appears on the Tesla website about doge).

Soon doge for Tesla?
It could get even further out of hand. Three days ago, several people noticed that something had changed on the Tesla website. The coding showed a payment option from Doge. Not for the merchandise, but for the car itself.

The only coin ever accepted by Tesla for this was bitcoin. If this actually happens in the future, it would be huge news for the memecoin. On the other hand, it’s also good to realize that Elon is not averse to a joke, and that this can just be a well-thought-out trick.
