The Eastern War Front of the National Liberation Army (ELN) of Colombia confirmed the kidnapping of soldier Ariel Oswaldo Ríos Vinasco and assured that in the coming days it will arrange for his delivery to a humanitarian commission.
In a statement published on their networks, the guerrilla bloc explained that the arrest of Ríos Vinasco took place on August 20. The soldier provides military service in the High Mountain Battalion No. 10, in the Buga municipality, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
The Eastern War Front, which also joined the bilateral, national and temporary ceasefire with the Government, stated in the text that the soldier was on leave and allegedly carried out intelligence actions in the community of the village of Alto Caranal, from the Fortul municipality, in the department of Arauca, where he is from.
According to that guerrilla bloc, with these tasks, Ríos Vinasco would have violated the ceasefire protocols that came into effect on August 3.
The letter states that the soldier will soon be handed over to a humanitarian commission. with RT
