The development plan for the first construction phase of the Elmpt commercial and industrial park has been approved. Marketing of the areas on the site of the former British military airport is about to begin.
The Niederkrüchten community’s economic development agency is taking this as an opportunity to emphasise the added value of the project for the local economy: “The development of the park also creates opportunities for companies in the region to expand, to build urgently needed halls or facilities. However, the work on the site is already creating various needs. Electricians, plumbers, building material dealers and many others are needed here. In Niederkrüchten we have the experts on site – with a wide range of services, short distances and a valuable network,” says economic development officer Frank Grusen. To ensure that companies that start their construction work on the site in the not too distant future also use service providers from the community, he has created an opportunity for them to draw attention to themselves directly on site.
Companies from the community were able to advertise themselves on a 4×3 meter sign with their logo, their offer and their contact details. The interest of the entrepreneurs clearly exceeded expectations. Grusen: “We were quickly able to discard our layout for 16 companies. A total of 33 companies are now advertising themselves on the sign at the entrance to the business park.”
The sign was put up on Monday in the presence of several entrepreneurs from the community. The Elmpt business and industrial park will be in the spotlight again the weekend after next. Expo Real, the leading international trade fair for real estate and investment, will be held in Munich. The developer Verdion, the economic development agency for the Viersen district and the Niederkrüchten community are using this as an opportunity to promote the development areas in Elmpt on a large stage.
